8.1 Overview

The Services section allows the card owner to present the professional, business, organizational, or personal services offered through the digital card.

Each service can contain:

  1. A service name
  2. A service URL
  3. A short description
  4. A service icon or image

The section also includes controls for displaying a service enquiry button and presenting service images through a slider. Users can add, view, edit, and delete individual services. The application maintains dedicated routes and screens for each of these actions.

8.2 Opening the Services Section

From the dashboard:

  1. Select VCards.
  2. Locate the digital card you want to update.
  3. Select the card name or the Edit icon.
  4. Select Services from the VCard editor menu.

On a phone or smaller screen, select the menu icon inside the editor to display the available editing sections.

The Services page displays the services already connected to the selected digital card.

8.3 Understanding the Services Screen

At the top of the Services screen are three main controls:

Display Service Enquiry Button
Display Images with Slider
Add Service

Below these controls is the list of saved services.

Each service provides action icons for:

View
Edit
Delete

The Service settings are managed independently for each VCard. Changing one card’s Services section does not change services attached to another card.

Service Display Settings

8.4 Display Service Enquiry Button

Turn on Display Service Enquiry Button to place an enquiry action with the services displayed on the public card.

This allows a visitor who is interested in a service to begin an enquiry rather than only reading the service description.

When the switch is turned off, the service information can remain visible, but the service enquiry action is hidden.

The setting applies to the complete Services section rather than to only one service. The system provides a dedicated control for enabling or disabling the service enquiry button.

8.5 Enquiry Button Versus the General Enquiry Form

The Service Enquiry Button directs attention to the services being offered.

The general Display Enquiry Form control in Basic Details 3 determines whether the public card’s enquiry form is available.

For the clearest visitor experience, turn on both:

Display Enquiry Form
Display Service Enquiry Button

This allows visitors to select an enquiry action while viewing services and then submit their contact information and message.

Submitted enquiries can later be reviewed from the system’s Inquiries section.

8.6 Display Images with Slider

Turn on Display Images with Slider to present the services one at a time through a sliding service display.

This setting is also represented internally as the Services Slider View.

When enabled, visitors can move through the services using the slider controls provided by the selected template.

When disabled, the selected VCard template uses its normal non-slider Services layout.

The exact appearance may differ between templates, but the setting applies to the entire Services section. The application stores this as a separate VCard display preference.

8.7 When to Use the Slider

The slider works well when:

  1. The card contains several services.
  2. Each service has a strong visual icon.
  3. The card should display one service at a time.
  4. The user wants a cleaner mobile presentation.
  5. Service descriptions require more individual attention.

A standard non-slider layout may work better when:

  1. The card contains only a few services.
  2. Visitors need to compare services quickly.
  3. The selected template has a clear service grid.
  4. The service descriptions are very short.

After changing the setting, preview the public card on both desktop and mobile devices.

8.8 Saving the Display Switches

The two Services display switches update their corresponding card settings directly.

After changing either switch, wait for the system’s success confirmation before leaving the page.

A separate Save button is not required for adding or editing an individual service display preference when the switch has already confirmed the update.

Adding a Service

8.9 Opening the New Service Form

Select Add Service.

The New Service window opens with the following fields:

Name
Service URL
Description
Service Icon
Save
Discard

The Name, Description, and Service Icon fields are required. The Service URL is optional.

8.10 Entering the Service Name

Use the Name field to enter a clear title for the service.

Examples include:

Business Consultation
Financial Literacy Training
Website Development
Real Estate Consultation
Tax Preparation
Marketing Strategy
Career Coaching
Event Photography
Home Energy Assessment
Customer Support Services

The service name should be specific enough for visitors to understand the offering without reading the full description.

Avoid unclear names such as:

Service 1
Option A
More Information
Other

Use consistent capitalization across all service names.

8.11 Writing the Service Description

Use the Description field to provide a short explanation of the service.

The Description is required.

A useful service description should explain:

  1. What the service provides
  2. Who the service is intended for
  3. The primary benefit
  4. What the customer can expect
  5. The next action the customer should take

Example:

Receive a one-on-one consultation to evaluate your business needs, identify operational challenges, and develop a practical technology and growth plan.

Another example:

Interactive financial literacy instruction for students, including assessments, curriculum activities, progress monitoring, and educator support.

Keep the description focused. Long company histories or unrelated information should be placed in the main VCard description, a blog, or another appropriate section.

8.12 Entering the Service URL

The Service URL is optional.

Use this field when the service should connect to another page or online destination.

Suitable destinations include:

  1. A detailed service page
  2. A scheduling page
  3. A registration form
  4. A secure checkout page
  5. An application form
  6. A course page
  7. A portfolio
  8. A downloadable information page
  9. A company website

Enter the complete address, including https://.

Correct:

https://poweredbyaiunify.com/business-consulting

Incorrect:

poweredbyaiunify.com/business-consulting

After saving, test the link from the public card.

Do not place administrative login pages, private documents, internal dashboards, or confidential links in this field.

8.13 Services Without a URL

A Service URL is not required.

Leave it blank when the service should only provide information or use the Service Enquiry Button as its primary visitor action.

For example, a service may show:

Service: Business Assessment

Description:
A comprehensive review of your business operations, technology,
customer engagement, and growth opportunities.

The visitor can then submit an enquiry instead of being sent to another website.

Service Icon

8.14 Uploading the Service Icon

The Service Icon visually represents the service.

To upload it:

  1. Select the edit icon inside the Service Icon area.
  2. Choose an image from your device.
  3. Adjust the crop when prompted.
  4. Confirm the image preview.
  5. Complete the remaining fields.
  6. Select Save.

The upload interface uses a square, 1:1 crop for service icons.

Use JPG, JPEG, or PNG images for the most reliable compatibility.

8.15 Choosing an Effective Service Icon

Select an image that remains understandable when displayed at a small size.

Suitable choices include:

  1. A simple professional icon
  2. A service-related photograph
  3. A company service graphic
  4. A recognizable symbol
  5. A clean illustration
  6. A branded square image

Examples include:

Calculator icon for financial services
Building icon for real estate
Laptop icon for technology services
Graduation cap for educational services
Camera icon for photography
Document icon for consulting
Charging symbol for EV services

Avoid images with large amounts of small text because the public card may display the icon as a compact thumbnail.

8.16 Preparing the Icon Image

For the best result:

  1. Use a square source image.
  2. Keep the main subject centered.
  3. Leave space around the subject.
  4. Use a clear background.
  5. Avoid extremely wide or tall images.
  6. Use the same visual style for all service icons.
  7. Make sure the image is not blurry.

When several services are displayed together, consistent icon styles create a more professional Services section.

8.17 Saving the New Service

After completing the required fields, select Save.

The system checks the submitted information.

Common reasons a service may not save include:

  1. Missing service name
  2. Missing description
  3. Missing service icon
  4. Unsupported image type
  5. Invalid or incomplete form data

When the service is accepted:

  1. A success message appears.
  2. The New Service window closes.
  3. The service list refreshes.
  4. The new service appears in the Services section.

8.18 Using Discard

Select Discard to close the New Service window without saving the current information.

Discard does not affect services that were already saved.

Any unsaved text or uploaded image in the form will need to be entered again when the window is reopened.

Viewing a Service

8.19 Opening Service Details

Select the View icon beside a saved service.

The Service Details window displays:

Name
Description
Service Icon
Service URL

The Service URL area may be empty when no URL was assigned.

Use the View option to review the stored information without opening the editing form.

8.20 Reviewing Service Details

Check that:

  1. The name is spelled correctly.
  2. The description accurately explains the service.
  3. The icon is clear.
  4. The URL is correct.
  5. The service matches the selected digital card.
  6. No private or outdated information appears.

Close the Service Details window when finished.

Editing a Service

8.21 Opening the Edit Service Form

Select the Edit icon beside the service you want to change.

The Edit Service window opens with the existing information.

You can update:

Name
Service URL
Description
Service Icon

8.22 Updating the Service Name

Change the Name when:

  1. The service has been renamed.
  2. The original name was unclear.
  3. The company has changed its terminology.
  4. The service should match current marketing.
  5. A spelling or capitalization correction is needed.

Changing the name updates the existing service rather than creating another service.

8.23 Updating the Description

Revise the Description when:

  1. The service has changed.
  2. New benefits need to be explained.
  3. The previous description is outdated.
  4. The wording is too long or unclear.
  5. A new audience is being served.
  6. The customer process has changed.

Select Save after completing the revision.

8.24 Updating the Service URL

Replace the Service URL when the destination has changed.

After saving, open the public VCard and test the new address.

Common URL problems include:

  1. Missing https://
  2. Typing errors
  3. Deleted website pages
  4. Private links
  5. Expired registration forms
  6. Old scheduling addresses
  7. Links requiring unauthorized access

Review service URLs regularly.

8.25 Replacing the Service Icon

Select the edit control on the current icon and upload a replacement image.

When editing, the existing icon remains in place when no replacement is selected.

Use the preview to confirm that the replacement image is correct before saving.

8.26 Saving Service Changes

Select Save after editing the service.

A success message confirms the update, and the service list refreshes.

Select Discard to close the editing window without applying the current changes.

Deleting a Service

8.27 Deleting an Unused Service

Select the Delete icon beside the service.

Review the confirmation message and approve the deletion.

Deleting a service removes:

  1. The service record
  2. Its service icon
  3. Its association with the selected digital card

Deletion is permanent. Recreate the service manually when it is needed again.

8.28 Services Connected to Appointments

A service cannot be deleted when it is already being used by a scheduled appointment.

The system checks for appointment records connected to the service and blocks deletion when the service is in use. This protects existing appointment information from referring to a service that no longer exists.

When the system reports that the service is already in use, review its appointment activity before attempting to remove it.

Do not delete valid customer appointment records simply to remove the service. Retain the service when it is needed for appointment history, or resolve its related records according to the organization’s operating procedures.

Services and Appointment Booking

8.29 Using Services for Appointments

Services created in the Services section can also be used in the card’s Appointments section.

Under Appointment by Services, the user can:

  1. Select an existing service
  2. Assign an amount
  3. Add additional service rows
  4. Remove a service from the appointment configuration

The service dropdown uses the services already created for that digital card.

The complete appointment setup will be covered in the Appointments chapter.

8.30 Adding a Service Amount

The main New Service form does not ask for a price.

A service amount is managed through the Appointments section when the service is offered as a selectable appointment service.

This separates:

Public service description

from:

Appointment service amount

A service can therefore appear on the card without being assigned an appointment price.

8.31 Informational Services Versus Bookable Services

An informational service provides the name, description, icon, and optional URL.

A bookable service is also selected inside the Appointments configuration and can be associated with an amount.

Examples:

Informational:
Business Development Services

Bookable:
60-Minute Business Consultation — $150

The same service can support both purposes when configured appropriately.

Controlling Service Visibility

8.32 Showing or Hiding the Services Section

The Manage Sections area controls whether the complete Services section appears on the public card.

To display Services:

  1. Open the VCard editor.
  2. Select Manage Sections.
  3. Turn on or select Services.
  4. Save the section settings.

To hide Services, clear the Services selection and save.

Hiding the section does not delete the individual service records. The Manage Sections interface includes a separate Services control for public visibility.

8.33 Hiding Services Without Deleting Them

Use Manage Sections instead of Delete when:

  1. The services are temporarily unavailable.
  2. The card is being redesigned.
  3. The information will be used later.
  4. A seasonal service is currently paused.
  5. The service history should be retained.
  6. The card should temporarily emphasize other content.

This allows the Services section to be restored later without recreating every entry.

Reviewing Services on the Public Card

8.34 Previewing the Services Section

After adding or changing services:

  1. Return to VCards.
  2. Open the card’s preview or public URL.
  3. Locate the Services section.
  4. Review each icon.
  5. Review each name and description.
  6. Test every Service URL.
  7. Test the Service Enquiry Button.
  8. Test the slider when enabled.
  9. Review the section on desktop and mobile.
  10. Confirm the Services section is enabled in Manage Sections.

The selected VCard template determines the exact visual arrangement.

8.35 Reviewing the Slider Presentation

When Display Images with Slider is enabled, confirm that:

  1. Every service can be reached.
  2. Slider arrows or controls work.
  3. Service descriptions are not cut off.
  4. Icons remain visible.
  5. The final service can be viewed.
  6. The slider works on a touchscreen.
  7. The section does not move too quickly or unexpectedly.

When the slider does not suit the content, turn it off and compare the template’s normal Services layout.

8.36 Reviewing the Enquiry Experience

When Display Service Enquiry Button is enabled:

  1. Open the public card.
  2. Locate a service.
  3. Select the enquiry action.
  4. Confirm that the enquiry experience opens.
  5. Submit a test enquiry.
  6. Return to the dashboard.
  7. Open Inquiries.
  8. Confirm that the submission was received.

Remove test information after confirming the workflow when appropriate.

Writing Strong Service Content

8.37 Use Customer-Focused Names

Name the service according to what the customer receives.

Stronger:

Small Business Technology Assessment

Less clear:

Technology

Stronger:

Financial Literacy Teacher Training

Less clear:

Training

8.38 Explain the Outcome

Focus the description on the result or benefit.

Example:

Identify gaps in your current business technology and receive a prioritized plan for improving customer communication, marketing, workflow, and data management.

This explains what the customer receives rather than only naming the activity.

8.39 Keep Service Entries Distinct

Avoid creating several services with nearly identical names and descriptions.

For example, clearly separate:

Business Consultation
Technology Assessment
Marketing Strategy
Customer Engagement Setup

Each entry should represent a recognizable offering.

8.40 Use Consistent Formatting

Use the same general format for every service:

Clear service name
One focused description
Consistent icon style
Relevant destination URL

Consistent formatting makes the Services section easier to understand.

  1. Refresh the public card.
  2. Open it in a private browser window.
  3. Clear the browser cache when necessary.
