5.1 Overview

The Business Hours section allows the card owner to display the days and times when the business, office, professional, organization, or service is available.

Each day can be marked as:

Open
Closed

For an open day, the user selects one From time and one To time. Days that are turned off appear as Closed.

Business Hours are different from appointment availability. Business Hours tell visitors when the business normally operates, while the Appointments section controls the exact days and time slots visitors can book.

5.2 Opening the Business Hours Section

From the dashboard:

  1. Select VCards.
  2. Locate the digital card you want to update.
  3. Select the card name or the Edit icon.
  4. Select Business Hours from the VCard editor menu.

The Business Hours option appears after Dynamic VCard and before QR Code Customization in the editor navigation.

On a phone or smaller screen, select the menu icon inside the editor to open the available VCard sections.

5.3 Selecting the Week Format Type

At the top of the Business Hours section, select the Week Format Type.

The available formats are:

Monday to Sunday
Sunday to Saturday

Choose the order that matches how you want the weekly schedule presented to visitors.

Monday to Sunday

Select this format when the normal business week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday.

This format is commonly used by businesses that organize their schedule around the weekday workweek.

Sunday to Saturday

Select this format when the week should begin on Sunday and end on Saturday.

This format is commonly used by businesses and organizations that follow a traditional calendar-week display.

The selected week format is saved with the digital card’s Business Hours information.

5.4 Understanding the Daily Schedule

The Business Hours screen contains a row for each day:

Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday

Each row contains:

  1. A day switch
  2. A From time
  3. A To time
  4. A Closed indicator

The time fields only appear when the day is enabled. When the day is disabled, the time fields are hidden and the system displays Closed.

5.5 Marking a Day as Open

Locate the day you want to configure and turn on its switch.

When the switch is turned on:

  1. The Closed indicator disappears.
  2. The From field appears.
  3. The To field appears.
  4. The day is included in the public Business Hours schedule after the changes are saved.

For example, to show that the business operates on Monday, turn on the switch beside Monday.

5.6 Selecting the Opening Time

Use the From dropdown to select the time the business opens or begins offering services on that day.

Example:

From: 9:00 AM

Choose the actual time when visitors can reasonably expect the business to be available.

The exact time format displayed may follow the account’s configured time settings.

5.7 Selecting the Closing Time

Use the To dropdown to select the time the business closes or stops offering services on that day.

Example:

To: 5:00 PM

The closing time must occur after the opening time.

A complete schedule may appear as:

Monday
From: 9:00 AM
To: 5:00 PM

The Business Hours interface provides one opening time and one closing time for each enabled day.

5.8 Marking a Day as Closed

To identify a day as closed, turn off the switch beside that day.

When the switch is turned off:

  1. The From and To fields are hidden.
  2. The day is not treated as an open business day.
  3. The interface displays Closed beside the day.
  4. The public card can show that the business is closed on that day.

For example, to mark Sunday as closed, leave the Sunday switch turned off.

Do not select opening and closing times for a day that should remain closed.

5.9 Entering a Standard Weekday Schedule

When the business operates the same hours Monday through Friday, configure each weekday separately.

Example:

Monday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed

Turn on Monday through Friday and choose the same From and To times for each day.

Leave Saturday and Sunday turned off.

Unlike the Appointments section, the Business Hours interface does not provide a copy-to-other-days control. Each day must be configured directly.

5.10 Entering Different Hours for Different Days

The opening and closing times do not need to be the same every day.

Example:

Monday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Wednesday: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
Sunday: Closed

For each enabled day, select the appropriate From and To times.

This is useful for:

  1. Extended evening hours
  2. Shortened Friday schedules
  3. Weekend availability
  4. Different office and service days
  5. Seasonal operating schedules
  6. Part-time business availability

5.11 Entering Weekend Hours

To display weekend availability, turn on the switch beside Saturday, Sunday, or both.

Select the opening and closing times for each enabled weekend day.

Example:

Saturday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM
Sunday: Closed

Weekend hours can be different from weekday hours.

5.12 Representing a 24-Hour Business

The Business Hours screen requires a From and To selection for an enabled day.

For a business that operates continuously, choose the earliest available starting time and the latest available ending time for each open day.

Configure all seven days when the business operates every day.

After saving, review the public card to confirm that the schedule communicates the intended availability correctly.

5.13 Businesses with Split Hours

The Business Hours section provides one continuous time range for each day.

For example, it can represent:

9:00 AM–5:00 PM

It does not provide separate morning and evening ranges within the same day, such as:

9:00 AM–12:00 PM
2:00 PM–6:00 PM

When a business operates split shifts, enter the primary operating range and use the card’s description, custom links, or another visible content section to explain the additional hours.

The separate Appointments section can also be used to create multiple bookable time periods when visitors need to schedule specific sessions.

5.14 Business Hours Versus Appointment Hours

Business Hours and Appointment Hours serve different purposes.

Business Hours

Business Hours tell visitors when the company or professional is normally open or available.

Example:

Monday–Friday
9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Appointment Hours

Appointment Hours control when visitors are permitted to schedule appointments.

Example:

Monday
10:00 AM–11:00 AM
1:00 PM–2:00 PM
3:00 PM–4:00 PM

A business may be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM but only accept appointments during selected time slots.

Configure both sections when the card needs to display general operating hours and provide appointment booking.

5.15 Saving the Business Hours

After configuring the week format, open days, and operating times, select Save at the bottom of the page.

The system saves:

Week Format Type
Enabled Business Days
Opening Time for Each Day
Closing Time for Each Day
Closed Days

Wait for the success message before leaving the editor.

The Business Hours screen includes a Save button and a Discard button.

5.16 Using Discard

Select Discard to leave the Business Hours section without saving the current changes.

Discard does not delete the digital card. It returns the user to the VCards page while keeping the previously saved schedule.

Changes made since the last save will not be applied.

5.17 Editing Existing Business Hours

Business Hours can be changed at any time.

To update the schedule:

  1. Open VCards.
  2. Edit the appropriate card.
  3. Select Business Hours.
  4. Turn days on or off as needed.
  5. Adjust the From and To times.
  6. Review the Week Format Type.
  7. Select Save.

Previously enabled days appear with their saved time fields visible. Previously closed days appear with their switches turned off and the Closed indicator displayed.

5.18 Updating Hours for Holidays or Temporary Closures

The Business Hours section stores the regular weekly schedule. It does not provide a separate holiday calendar within this screen.

For a temporary closure:

  1. Open the Business Hours section.
  2. Turn off the affected day when the change should be publicly reflected.
  3. Select Save.
  4. Restore the regular schedule after the temporary closure has passed.

A banner, announcement, blog post, or custom link can also be used to explain special holiday hours without replacing the regular weekly schedule.

5.19 Reviewing Business Hours on the Public Card

After saving the schedule:

  1. Return to VCards.
  2. Open the card’s public URL or preview.
  3. Locate the Business Hours section.
  4. Confirm that the open and closed days are correct.
  5. Confirm that each opening and closing time is correct.
  6. Confirm that the week appears in the preferred order.
  7. Review the schedule on both desktop and mobile devices.

Check that the displayed schedule does not conflict with appointment availability, contact information, or written descriptions elsewhere on the card.

5.20 Common Business Hours Mistakes

Opening and Closing Times Reversed

Make sure the From time occurs before the To time.

Incorrect:

From: 5:00 PM
To: 9:00 AM

Correct:

From: 9:00 AM
To: 5:00 PM

Forgetting to Enable the Day

Selecting times is not enough if the day’s switch remains off. Turn on the day before saving.

Leaving an Open Day Without Times

Every enabled day should have both a From and To time.

Displaying Appointment Hours as Business Hours

Do not use Business Hours to represent only the limited periods during which appointments can be scheduled unless those are also the organization’s true operating hours.

Forgetting to Save

Always select Save after changing the schedule.

Not Reviewing the Public Card

Open the live card after saving to confirm that the schedule appears as expected.

5.21 Recommended Setup Checklist

Before completing the Business Hours section, confirm that:

  1. The correct Week Format Type is selected.
  2. Every open day is turned on.
  3. Every closed day is turned off.
  4. Each open day has a From time.
  5. Each open day has a To time.
  6. Closing times occur after opening times.
  7. Weekend hours are accurate.
  8. The schedule matches the business’s actual availability.
  9. The changes have been saved.
  10. The public card has been reviewed.
