22.1 Overview

The Banner section allows the card owner to display a focused promotional message and action button on the public digital card.

A VCard Banner can be used to direct visitors toward an important action such as:

  1. Registering for an event
  2. Scheduling a consultation
  3. Applying for a program
  4. Viewing a promotion
  5. Visiting a product page
  6. Downloading a resource
  7. Requesting a quote
  8. Opening an external website
  9. Starting an assessment
  10. Joining a course

The programmed Banner form contains:

Title
URL
Description
Banner Button
Show Banner
Save

All four content fields are marked as required in the Banner interface. The screen uses one configuration form for the selected VCard rather than a list of multiple banner records.

22.2 Understanding the VCard Banner

The VCard Banner is a text-based promotional section containing:

  1. A headline
  2. Supporting text
  3. A destination address
  4. A visitor-facing button label

The Banner editor does not contain an image-upload field.

This means the programmed VCard Banner should not be confused with:

  1. A cover image
  2. A gallery image
  3. A Blog Icon
  4. A product image
  5. A promotional graphic uploaded elsewhere

The selected VCard template determines the Banner’s colors, spacing, position, typography, and overall appearance.

22.3 Banner Versus Other VCard Features

Several VCard features can direct visitors toward another action, but they serve different purposes.

Banner

Use for one prominent promotional message and action.

Custom Links

Use for a group of general external destinations.

Products

Use for items requiring images, prices, descriptions, enquiries, or orders.

Services

Use for professional offerings requiring descriptions, icons, enquiries, or appointment connections.

Payment Links

Use for payments, UPI instructions, payment-provider destinations, or payment QR images.

Blog

Use for a longer announcement or educational article.

Cover Media

Use for the main image, video, or YouTube presentation at the top of the VCard.

The Banner is most effective when it emphasizes one immediate visitor action.

22.4 Opening the Banner Section

From the dashboard:

  1. Select VCards.
  2. Locate the digital card you want to update.
  3. Select the card name or the Edit icon.
  4. Open the additional VCard editing options.
  5. Select Banner.

On a phone or smaller screen, select the menu icon inside the VCard editor before selecting Banner.

The Banner option appears directly after Custom Links in the programmed VCard editor menu.

22.5 Understanding the Banner Screen

Unlike Services, Products, Blogs, and Testimonials, the Banner section does not display an Add Banner button or management table.

Instead, it presents one form containing:

Title
URL
Description
Banner Button
Show Banner
Save

When a Banner has already been configured, its saved information is loaded into the same fields.

To update the Banner, revise the fields and select Save again.

22.6 One Banner Configuration per VCard

The interface manages one Banner configuration for the selected VCard.

The screen does not provide:

Multiple Banner rows
Add another Banner
Banner carousel
Banner sorting
Individual Banner deletion
Banner scheduling
Start date
End date

Use the saved Banner for the card’s most important current promotion.

When the promotion changes, update the existing Banner with the new Title, Description, URL, and button wording.

Planning the Banner

22.7 Define the Primary Action

Before entering the Banner information, decide what visitors should do.

Examples include:

Register for the Workshop
Schedule a Consultation
Apply for the Program
Start the Assessment
View Available Products
Download the Course Overview
Request a Business Evaluation
Visit the Event Website

A Banner should normally promote one primary action rather than several unrelated actions.

22.8 Match the Banner to the VCard’s Purpose

The Banner should support the card’s main objective.

For example:

Professional Consultant

Schedule Your Business Consultation

Education Program

Register Your School for a Demonstration

Real Estate Professional

View Current Property Listings

Event Organizer

Register for the Upcoming Conference

Product Business

Explore Our New Product Collection

Financial Assessment

Start Your Moneyality DNA Assessment

Do not use an unrelated promotion merely because the Banner is highly visible.

22.9 Keep the Promotion Current

Review whether the Banner contains:

  1. An expired date
  2. A closed registration
  3. An unavailable product
  4. An old price
  5. A discontinued service
  6. A former employee’s contact information
  7. A broken external page
  8. A completed campaign

Because the Banner does not include automatic expiration controls, time-sensitive information must be updated or hidden manually.

Banner Title

22.10 Entering the Title

Use the Title field for the Banner’s main headline.

The Title is marked as required.

Examples include:

Transform Your Business with AIUNIFY

Registration Is Now Open

Schedule Your Free Initial Consultation

Discover Your Moneyality DNA

Bring Financial Literacy to Your School

Explore Mobile EV Charging Solutions

The Title should communicate the primary opportunity immediately.

22.11 Write a Clear Headline

A strong Banner Title should be:

  1. Specific
  2. Easy to understand
  3. Relevant to the destination
  4. Short enough for mobile display
  5. Consistent with the VCard’s branding
  6. Focused on one subject

Weak:

Learn More

Stronger:

Learn How AIUNIFY Can Improve Your Business

Weak:

New Opportunity

Stronger:

Apply for the Fall Financial Education Program

22.12 Use Benefit-Oriented Wording

A Banner Title can emphasize what the visitor gains.

Examples:

Build a More Organized Small Business

Give Students Practical Financial Skills

Charge Your EV Wherever You Need Power

Turn More Leads into Customers

Avoid unsupported guarantees such as:

Double Your Sales Guaranteed

unless the claim is accurate, approved, and supportable.

22.13 Avoid Overly Long Titles

Long Banner Titles may become crowded or wrap across several lines on a phone.

Too long:

Register Today to Learn About All of the Different Financial Literacy Courses, Assessments, Activities, and Training Resources Available for Students and Teachers

Clearer:

Explore Financial Literacy Training for Students and Teachers

Place supporting details in the Description rather than the Title.

22.14 Match the Title to the Destination

The Title should accurately represent the page opened by the Banner button.

Example:

Title:
Register for the Financial Literacy Workshop

Destination:
Workshop registration page

Do not use:

Title:
Download the Free Guide

Destination:
Paid consultation checkout page

Misleading Banner wording can reduce visitor trust.

Banner Description

22.15 Entering the Description

Use the Description field to explain the offer or action.

The Description is marked as required and uses a multiline text area.

A useful Description should answer questions such as:

  1. What is being offered?
  2. Who is it for?
  3. What is included?
  4. Why should the visitor act?
  5. Is there an important date or requirement?
  6. What happens after selecting the button?

22.16 Writing a Strong Description

Example:

Schedule a one-on-one consultation to review your current business systems, identify operational gaps, and receive recommendations for improving customer communication, marketing, and workflow.

Another example:

Schools can request a demonstration of the FinCredit financial literacy curriculum, student assessments, progress monitoring, and educator-support tools.

Another example:

Complete the Moneyality DNA assessment to better understand the attitudes, habits, and behavioral patterns influencing your financial decisions.

22.17 Keep the Description Concise

The Banner is a promotional summary rather than a full article.

A practical Description may contain:

One to three short sentences

Use Blogs, Services, Products, or external pages for detailed information.

Too long:

A complete page-length explanation containing the company history, every service, several testimonials, pricing details, policies, and unrelated announcements.

Better:

Receive a personalized review of your business technology and a practical plan for improving marketing, customer engagement, and daily operations.

22.18 Include Important Conditions

When applicable, include important information such as:

  1. Registration deadline
  2. Eligibility
  3. Limited availability
  4. Required deposit
  5. Event date
  6. Geographic service area
  7. Delivery format
  8. Application requirement

Example:

Registration is available through August 15. Space is limited, and completed registration is required before attendance is confirmed.

Do not hide important restrictions behind a vague button.

22.19 Avoid Confidential Information

Do not place any of the following in the Banner Description:

Passwords
Administrative usernames
Private invitation tokens
API keys
Bank-account credentials
Customer records
Internal access instructions
Confidential pricing
Private employee information

The Banner is public information.

Banner URL

22.20 Entering the URL

Use the URL field to enter the destination opened when the visitor selects the Banner button.

The field is marked as required and uses a URL-specific input.

Enter the complete public address, including:

https://

Correct:

https://poweredbyaiunify.com/request-a-demo

Incorrect:

poweredbyaiunify.com/request-a-demo

22.21 Suitable Banner Destinations

The Banner may direct visitors to:

  1. Event registration
  2. Appointment scheduling
  3. Application form
  4. Product page
  5. Service page
  6. Online store
  7. Course enrollment
  8. Assessment
  9. Donation page
  10. Public document
  11. Customer-facing portal
  12. Company website
  13. External checkout page
  14. Public survey

The destination should be ready before the Banner is displayed.

22.22 Use a Public Destination

Test the URL in a private browser window.

Confirm that the visitor does not encounter:

  1. Administrator login
  2. Permission-denied message
  3. Private document request
  4. Expired page
  5. Development environment
  6. Broken form
  7. Missing product
  8. Security warning
  9. Incorrect business website

Use a public customer-facing address.

22.23 External Versus Internal Destinations

The Banner URL can point to an external website or a public page associated with the organization.

Possible external destinations include:

Company website
Google Form
Course platform
External store
Public calendar
Registration service
Customer portal

The Banner form does not provide a dropdown for selecting internal VCard sections. Enter the complete destination address required for the action.

22.24 New-Tab Behavior

In the inspected public VCard templates, the Banner action URL is assigned to the Banner button and opens in a new browser tab or window.

This allows the visitor to keep the digital card open while viewing the destination.

The Banner editor does not provide a separate Open in New Tab switch.

22.25 Check the Domain Carefully

Before saving, inspect the destination’s domain name.

Confirm that:

  1. The spelling is correct.
  2. The page belongs to the intended organization.
  3. The domain has not expired.
  4. The page uses HTTPS where available.
  5. There are no unexpected redirects.
  6. The address does not contain an accidental tracking or editing token.
  7. The destination is not a test page.

The Banner prominently represents the cardholder, so its external destination should be trusted and current.

22.26 Changing the Banner URL

Update the URL when:

  1. A registration page changes
  2. A new campaign replaces the old one
  3. A product page moves
  4. A scheduling provider changes
  5. A document is replaced
  6. A website is redesigned
  7. A temporary form expires
  8. A broken destination is discovered

After saving, test the button again from the public VCard.

Banner Button

22.27 Entering the Banner Button Label

Use the Banner Button field to enter the text displayed on the visitor’s action button.

The field is marked as required.

Examples include:

Register Now

Schedule a Consultation

Start the Assessment

Apply Today

View Products

Download the Guide

Request a Demonstration

Learn More

The system uses this saved value as the Banner’s public call-to-action wording.

22.28 Use an Action Verb

Begin with a clear visitor action.

Strong:

Register Now

Schedule Your Consultation

Download the Program Guide

View Current Listings

Less effective:

Button

Submit

Go

Here

The visitor should understand what happens after selecting the button.

22.29 Keep the Button Label Short

The label must fit inside the template’s button area.

Recommended:

2 to 5 words

Examples:

Request a Demo

Join the Program

Explore Our Services

Start Your Assessment

Avoid entering a complete sentence inside the button.

22.30 Match the Button to the URL

The button wording should describe the actual destination.

Example:

Button:
Schedule a Consultation

URL:
Public appointment or scheduling page

Another example:

Button:
Download the Guide

URL:
Public document or download page

Do not use Buy Now when the destination only provides general information.

22.31 Avoid False Urgency

Use urgency only when it is accurate.

Appropriate:

Register by August 15

when registration actually closes on that date.

Misleading:

Last Chance

when the offer has no meaningful deadline.

Review urgent wording regularly so an expired message is not left on the public card.

Showing or Hiding the Banner

22.32 Show Banner Checkbox

The Banner form contains a Show Banner checkbox.

When selected, the Banner is enabled for public presentation.

When cleared, the saved Banner content remains available but is not intended to display publicly.

The Banner form saves this visibility choice together with the Title, URL, Description, and Banner Button.

22.33 Showing the Banner

To display the Banner:

  1. Complete the Title.
  2. Enter the URL.
  3. Enter the Description.
  4. Enter the Banner Button wording.
  5. Select Show Banner.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Open the public VCard.
  8. Confirm that the Banner appears.

22.34 Hiding the Banner Temporarily

To hide it without replacing the saved content:

  1. Open Banner.
  2. Clear Show Banner.
  3. Select Save.
  4. Refresh the public card.
  5. Confirm that the Banner is hidden.

This is useful when:

  1. Registration is paused.
  2. An offer has ended.
  3. The destination is being updated.
  4. The promotion requires approval.
  5. The card is being redesigned.
  6. A replacement campaign is being prepared.

22.35 Banner Visibility in Manage Section

The Banner is also included in the VCard’s Manage Section visibility controls.

For reliable public display, review both:

Show Banner in the Banner form
Banner in Manage Section

The Banner should be enabled where applicable in both locations.

When the Banner does not appear, inspect both visibility controls before assuming the Banner information was lost.

22.36 Hiding Does Not Delete the Banner

Clearing Show Banner or hiding Banner through Manage Section does not erase:

  1. Title
  2. URL
  3. Description
  4. Button wording

The information can be shown again later by restoring the visibility setting and saving.

Saving and Updating

22.37 Saving the Banner

After completing the fields, select Save.

The Banner form submits the information through the programmed Banner save operation. The Banner controller sends the submitted data to the Banner repository and then returns to the editor with a VCard update confirmation.

Wait for the success message before leaving the section.

22.38 No Separate Edit Button

There is no separate Banner list with an Edit icon.

To update the Banner:

  1. Reopen Banner.
  2. Change the existing fields.
  3. Review Show Banner.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Test the public VCard.

The existing Banner configuration is loaded directly into the form.

22.39 No Discard Button

The programmed Banner form displays a Save button but does not display a separate Discard button.

To leave without saving:

  1. Do not select Save.
  2. Select another VCard editor section, or
  3. Return to the VCards list.

Any changes not submitted through Save will not replace the previously stored Banner information.

22.40 No Delete Button

The Banner screen does not provide a separate Delete control.

To stop displaying the Banner, clear Show Banner or hide Banner through Manage Section.

When old content should no longer be retained, replace it with the current approved Banner information and save.

Reviewing the Public Banner

22.41 Public Review Procedure

After saving:

  1. Return to VCards.
  2. Open the card’s public URL or preview.
  3. Locate the Banner.
  4. Confirm that the Title is correct.
  5. Read the Description.
  6. Review the button wording.
  7. Select the button.
  8. Confirm that the correct destination opens.
  9. Review the Banner on desktop.
  10. Review it on a mobile phone.

22.42 Template Differences

Different VCard templates may display the Banner:

  1. Near the top of the card
  2. Between other content sections
  3. Inside a colored promotional panel
  4. As a compact call-to-action strip
  5. With centered or left-aligned text
  6. With different button colors and spacing

The Banner editor does not provide:

Banner background color
Banner text color
Button color
Font selector
Banner position
Image upload

Those visual characteristics are controlled by the selected template and its design.

22.43 Review After Changing Templates

After selecting another VCard template:

  1. Open the public card.
  2. Locate the Banner.
  3. Confirm that the Title fits.
  4. Confirm that the Description remains readable.
  5. Confirm that the button is visible.
  6. Test the destination.
  7. Review mobile spacing.
  8. Shorten the content when necessary.

A Banner that fits one design may appear crowded in another.

22.44 Mobile Review

On a phone, confirm that:

  1. The Title does not occupy excessive space.
  2. The Description is readable.
  3. The button fits the screen.
  4. The Banner does not cover other controls.
  5. The visitor can continue scrolling.
  6. The destination opens correctly.
  7. The new browser tab is understandable.
  8. The Banner does not interfere with the sticky action bar.

Mobile review is especially important because many visitors open VCards by scanning a QR code.

22.45 Test as a Public Visitor

Open the VCard in a private or incognito browser window.

This confirms that:

  1. The Banner is publicly visible.
  2. The destination does not depend on the administrator’s login.
  3. The external page is available to ordinary visitors.
  4. The button does not open a private editing page.
  5. Cached administrator content is not affecting the test.

Banner Strategies

22.50 Event Banner

Title:

Description:
Reserve your place for the upcoming small-business technology
workshop before registration closes.

Banner Button:

URL:

22.51 Download Banner

Title:
Download the Program Overview

Description:
Review curriculum features, implementation support,
student activities, assessments, and educator resources.

Banner Button:
Download the Guide

URL:
https://example.com/program-guide.pdf

Confirm that the document is publicly accessible and does not grant unintended editing permissions.

22.52 Donation Banner

Title:
Support Financial Education for Students

Description:
Your contribution helps provide practical financial learning,
student resources, educator support, and community programming.

Banner Button:
Make a Donation

URL:
https://example.com/donate

Use only an approved secure donation destination.

Maintaining the Banner

22.53 Review Time-Sensitive Promotions

Because the Banner does not provide automatic start and expiration dates, maintain an external review date for:

  1. Event registration
  2. Applications
  3. Promotions
  4. Discounts
  5. Product launches
  6. Limited appointments
  7. Seasonal services
  8. Surveys
  9. Fundraising campaigns

After the deadline:

  1. Update the Banner,
  2. Replace the promotion, or
  3. Clear Show Banner.

22.54 Review the Destination Regularly

Periodically select the Banner button and confirm that:

  1. The page still exists.
  2. The correct organization owns it.
  3. The page remains secure.
  4. The form still accepts submissions.
  5. The product remains available.
  6. The download works.
  7. The event information is current.
  8. No unexpected redirect appears.

A broken Banner is highly visible and can damage visitor confidence.

22.55 Keep an External Banner Record

For important campaigns, retain:

Banner Title
Description
Button wording
Destination URL
Date published
Review or expiration date
Responsible person
Approval information
VCard where displayed

This makes it easier to restore, audit, or replace campaign information.

22.56 Review Duplicated VCards

After duplicating a VCard:

  1. Open the duplicate.
  2. Select Banner.
  3. Review the copied Title.
  4. Review the Description.
  5. Test the URL.
  6. Review the Banner Button wording.
  7. Review Show Banner.
  8. Replace information belonging only to the original card.
  9. Preview the duplicate publicly.

Do not allow a duplicated card to promote another person’s scheduling page, program, store, or campaign unintentionally.

Troubleshooting

22.57 Banner Data Required

When the Banner cannot be saved, confirm that all required fields contain information:

Title
URL
Description
Banner Button

The interface marks each field as required.

Do not enter only spaces.

22.58 Invalid URL

Confirm that the URL is complete and properly formatted.

Correct:

https://example.com/register

Incorrect:

example.com/register

Also check for:

  1. Spaces
  2. Missing punctuation
  3. Duplicated https://
  4. Incomplete domain
  5. Copied quotation marks
  6. Expired URL
  7. Unsupported private address

22.59 The Banner Does Not Appear

Confirm that:

  1. All Banner fields were saved.
  2. Show Banner is selected.
  3. Banner is enabled in Manage Section.
  4. The VCard is active.
  5. The correct VCard was edited.
  6. The public card has been refreshed.
  7. The selected template displays the Banner.
  8. The browser is not showing an older cached page.

22.60 The Banner Remains Visible After Being Hidden

Confirm that:

  1. Show Banner was cleared.
  2. Save was selected.
  3. Banner was also reviewed in Manage Section.
  4. The success message appeared.
  5. The public VCard was refreshed.
  6. The card was tested in a private browser window.
  7. The correct VCard was edited.

22.61 The Button Opens the Wrong Page

Return to Banner and inspect the URL.

Confirm that:

  1. The destination was pasted completely.
  2. The correct campaign page was used.
  3. A test page was not saved accidentally.
  4. The external page is not redirecting visitors elsewhere.
  5. The correct VCard was opened.

Update the URL and save again.

22.62 The Button Does Not Open

Confirm that:

  1. The URL begins with https://.
  2. The destination is available.
  3. The page is not blocked by the browser.
  4. The Banner was saved after the URL was entered.
  5. The external website permits public access.
  6. The visitor’s device has an internet connection.

Test the URL directly in another browser tab.

22.63 The Button Label Is Too Long

Shorten it to a clear action phrase.

Instead of:

Select This Button to Register for the Upcoming Workshop

use:

Register for the Workshop

22.64 The Description Is Cut Off

The selected template may provide limited Banner space.

Shorten the Description and move detailed information to the destination page or a Blog.

Keep the Banner focused on the offer and action.

22.65 The Banner Looks Different After a Template Change

This is expected because template styling controls the public Banner presentation.

Review and revise:

  1. Title length
  2. Description length
  3. Button wording
  4. Overall message

The Banner editor does not provide independent visual styling controls.

22.66 Old Banner Information Still Appears

After updating:

  1. Confirm that the save confirmation appeared.
  2. Reopen Banner and inspect the stored fields.
  3. Refresh the public card.
  4. Open it in a private browser window.
  5. Clear cached page data when necessary.
  6. Confirm that the correct VCard is being tested.

22.67 Banner Checklist

Before completing the Banner section, confirm that:

  1. The Title clearly communicates the promotion.
  2. The Description explains the offer.
  3. The URL is complete and public.
  4. The Banner Button uses clear action wording.
  5. The button label matches the destination.
  6. Show Banner is configured intentionally.
  7. Banner visibility was reviewed in Manage Section.
  8. The promotion is current.
  9. Dates, prices, and claims are accurate.
  10. No confidential information is displayed.
  11. The destination was tested privately.
  12. The Banner was reviewed on desktop and mobile.
  13. The Banner was reviewed after the latest template change.
  14. Time-sensitive content has a review date.
  15. Duplicated VCards contain the correct Banner information.

Chapter Completion

At the end of this chapter, the user should understand how to create, update, show, hide, test, and maintain a VCard Banner using its Title, URL, Description, Banner Button, and visibility controls.
