19.1 Overview
The Testimonials section allows the card owner to display statements from customers, clients, students, partners, participants, or other individuals who have experienced the person’s services, products, programs, or professional work.
Testimonials can help visitors understand:
- The quality of the services
- The customer experience
- The results others received
- The cardholder’s professionalism
- The organization’s credibility
- The value of a product or program
Each testimonial contains three primary fields:
The Testimonials interface provides separate controls to create, view, edit, and delete testimonial records.
19.2 Opening the Testimonials Section
From the dashboard:
- Select VCards.
- Locate the digital card you want to update.
- Select the card name or the Edit icon.
- Select Testimonials from the VCard editor menu.
On a phone or smaller screen, select the menu icon inside the editor to display the available VCard sections.
The Testimonials option appears within the VCard editor alongside Blogs, Galleries, Services, Products, and other content-management sections.
19.3 Understanding the Testimonials Screen
The Testimonials screen contains:
Add Testimonial
Saved testimonial list
View action
Edit action
Delete action
Each testimonial row displays the associated image and its management controls.
The available actions are represented by:
Eye icon — View
Pencil icon — Edit
Trash icon — Delete
Testimonials belong to the VCard in which they were created. Adding a testimonial to one VCard does not automatically display it on another VCard.
Preparing Testimonials
19.4 Obtain Permission Before Publishing
Before adding a testimonial, confirm that the person has approved the public use of:
- Their statement
- Their name
- Their photograph
- Their company or professional identity, when mentioned
- Any results or experiences attributed to them
Approval can be obtained through an email, release form, written message, contract, or another documented method appropriate to the organization.
Do not publish a private customer message as a testimonial merely because it was positive.
19.5 Use Authentic Statements
Testimonials should reflect real experiences.
Do not:
- Invent customer quotations
- Create fictional customers
- Attribute statements to someone who did not make them
- Change the meaning of the original feedback
- Add results the customer did not receive
- Present employee-written advertising as independent customer feedback
The statement may be shortened for clarity when permission allows, but its original meaning should remain intact.
19.6 Protect Private Information
A testimonial should not reveal information that the person did not authorize for public display.
Review the statement for:
- Account numbers
- Personal addresses
- Private telephone numbers
- Financial records
- Medical information
- Student records
- Confidential project information
- Internal company details
- Login credentials
- Information about another person
Remove unnecessary private details before publication.
19.7 Choosing the Testimonial Name
The Name field identifies the person connected to the testimonial.
Possible formats include:
Angela Morris
David R.
Mrs. Taylor
James Carter, Business Owner
Detroit Community Partner
Verified Program Participant
Use the full name only when the person has approved it.
When anonymity is requested, use an approved alternative such as:
Small Business Client
Program Participant
Parent of a Student
Workshop Attendee
Residential Customer
Do not describe a testimonial as verified unless the organization has actually verified it.
Adding a Testimonial
19.8 Opening the New Testimonial Form
Select Add Testimonial.
The New Testimonial window opens with:
Name
Description
Image
Save
Discard
All three content fields are required when creating a new testimonial.
The selected VCard is connected to the testimonial automatically.
19.9 Entering the Name
Enter the approved person or organization name in the Name field.
Example:
Another example:
Owner, Thompson Business Solutions
Keep the name concise enough to display clearly on a phone.
Avoid entering the testimonial statement inside the Name field.
19.10 Writing the Description
Enter the testimonial statement in the Description field.
The Description field displays several lines so a complete customer statement can be entered.
A strong testimonial generally explains:
- The customer’s original need
- What service or product was received
- What the experience was like
- What result or benefit occurred
- Why the customer recommends the business
Example:
AIUNIFY helped us organize our customer communication, marketing, and daily operations into one connected system. The implementation process was clear, professional, and much easier than we expected.
Another example:
The financial education program helped my students connect classroom lessons to real financial decisions. They became more engaged and confident when discussing budgeting, credit, and saving.
19.11 Keep the Testimonial Focused
The Description should be long enough to provide useful information but short enough to read comfortably inside a digital card.
Avoid:
- Extremely long letters
- Multiple unrelated stories
- Repeated advertising slogans
- Excessive capitalization
- Large blocks without punctuation
- Claims unrelated to the service provided
When the original feedback is lengthy, select the most meaningful approved portion.
19.12 Using Quotation Marks
Quotation marks are optional.
The selected VCard template may already visually present the Description as a testimonial.
Example without quotation marks:
Their team understood our needs and delivered a practical system that our staff could begin using immediately.
Example with quotation marks:
“Their team understood our needs and delivered a practical system that our staff could begin using immediately.”
Use one consistent approach across all testimonial entries.
Testimonial Image
19.13 Uploading the Image
The Image field is required when creating a new testimonial.
To upload it:
- Select the edit icon inside the image area.
- Choose the approved image from your device.
- Adjust the crop when prompted.
- Center the person, logo, or approved subject.
- Confirm the preview.
- Complete the Name and Description.
- Select Save.
The image-upload control uses a square crop measuring 100 by 100 in its cropping configuration.
19.14 Supported Image Formats
Use one of the programmed image formats:
These formats provide the most reliable compatibility for testimonial creation and editing.
Do not upload:
- PDF documents
- Videos
- Audio recordings
- Word documents
- Unsupported image formats
- Damaged files
19.15 Choosing a Person’s Photograph
When using a personal photograph:
- Obtain permission.
- Use a clear image.
- Center the face.
- Use appropriate lighting.
- Avoid distracting backgrounds.
- Do not crop through the face.
- Use a current photograph where practical.
- Confirm that the image represents the correct person.
A professional headshot is ideal but not required.
19.16 Using a Company Logo
A company logo may be used when:
- The testimonial represents an organization.
- An individual photograph is unavailable.
- The organization has approved the logo’s use.
- The testimonial is attributed to the company or team.
Make sure the logo remains recognizable inside a square or circular display.
Avoid using a logo without authorization.
19.17 Using an Approved Placeholder
When the customer does not want their photograph shown, use an approved alternative such as:
- Initials graphic
- Company logo
- Neutral profile image
- Program or organization symbol
- Profession-related icon
Do not use another real person’s photograph as a placeholder.
19.18 Cropping the Image
The testimonial image is prepared for a small, square display.
During cropping:
- Keep the primary subject centered.
- Leave enough space around the face or logo.
- Avoid placing important details near the edges.
- Confirm that the image remains recognizable at thumbnail size.
- Apply the crop.
Some VCard templates may display the square image inside a circular frame.
Saving the Testimonial
19.19 Reviewing the Form
Before saving, confirm that:
Name is completed.
Description is completed.
Image is uploaded.
The statement is approved.
The image is approved.
The testimonial belongs to the correct VCard.
Select Save.
When the submission is accepted:
- A success confirmation appears.
- The New Testimonial window closes.
- The testimonial list refreshes.
- The new testimonial appears in the table.
19.20 Common Validation Problems
A testimonial may not save when:
- The Name field is blank.
- The Description field is blank.
- The Image is missing.
- The image format is unsupported.
- The image upload was interrupted.
- The form session expired.
- The content was entered into the wrong field.
Correct the identified issue and submit the form again.
19.21 Using Discard
Select Discard to close the New Testimonial window without saving.
Discard does not affect previously saved testimonials.
Any unsaved Name, Description, or selected image will need to be entered again when the form is reopened.
Viewing a Testimonial
19.22 Opening Testimonial Details
Select the View icon beside a saved testimonial.
The Testimonial Details window displays:
Use this option to review the stored information without opening the editing form.
19.23 Reviewing the Details
Confirm that:
- The Name is spelled correctly.
- The Description matches the approved statement.
- The correct image appears.
- No private information is displayed.
- The testimonial belongs to the correct person.
- The testimonial remains current.
- The statement supports the VCard’s purpose.
Close the details window after reviewing it.
Editing Testimonials
19.24 Opening the Edit Testimonial Form
Select the Edit icon beside the testimonial you want to change.
The Edit Testimonial window loads the existing:
The saved image remains available unless a replacement is selected.
19.25 Correcting the Name
Update the Name when:
- A spelling error exists.
- The person’s professional title changed.
- The person requested greater privacy.
- A full name should be shortened.
- A company name changed.
- The original attribution was inaccurate.
Example:
Original:
Michelle Thompson
Updated:
Michelle T.
Make sure the revised attribution has been approved when necessary.
19.26 Updating the Description
Edit the Description when:
- The original text contains an error.
- The person approved a revised statement.
- The wording needs to be shortened.
- Outdated product or service information appears.
- The statement was copied incorrectly.
- A confidential detail needs to be removed.
- Formatting or punctuation needs correction.
Do not revise the statement in a way that changes the person’s intended meaning.
19.27 Replacing the Image
To replace the testimonial image:
- Open the Edit Testimonial window.
- Select the image-edit control.
- Choose a JPG, JPEG, or PNG file.
- Adjust the square crop.
- Confirm the preview.
- Select Save.
Uploading a replacement image is optional during editing. When no new image is selected, the existing image remains associated with the testimonial.
19.28 Saving Testimonial Changes
Select Save after completing the edits.
The system updates the existing testimonial rather than creating another record.
A success confirmation appears, and the testimonial list refreshes.
Select Discard to close the form without applying the current changes.
Deleting Testimonials
19.29 Deleting a Testimonial
Select the Delete icon beside the testimonial.
Review the confirmation message and approve the deletion.
Deleting the testimonial removes:
- The testimonial record
- Its saved Name
- Its saved Description
- Its associated image
- Its connection to the VCard
The programmed deletion process clears the testimonial’s stored media before removing the record.
19.30 Delete Versus Hide
Use Delete when:
- The statement was added by mistake.
- Permission was withdrawn.
- The testimonial is false or inaccurate.
- The testimonial belongs to the wrong card.
- The person requested removal.
- The content should not be retained.
Use Manage Section when:
- All testimonials should be hidden temporarily.
- The VCard is being redesigned.
- Testimonial approvals are being reviewed.
- The public card should temporarily be shorter.
- The testimonial records may be used again.
Hiding the section preserves the testimonials. Deleting an entry removes it.
19.31 No Individual Status Switch
The Testimonial form does not provide a separate:
Active
Inactive
Published
Draft
switch for each entry.
An individual testimonial is either stored or deleted.
To temporarily prevent one specific testimonial from appearing while keeping the others visible, maintain an approved external copy and remove the testimonial from the VCard until it is ready to be restored.
19.32 No Visible Restore Option
The Testimonials screen does not provide a visible recycle bin or restore control.
Before deleting:
- Confirm that the correct testimonial was selected.
- Retain an approved copy of the statement.
- Retain the original image when it may be needed later.
- Confirm that removal has been authorized.
A deleted testimonial must be recreated manually when it is needed again.
Public Testimonial Visibility
19.33 Enabling Testimonials in Manage Section
Creating testimonials does not replace the need to confirm that the section is publicly enabled.
To display Testimonials:
- Open the VCard editor.
- Select Manage Section.
- Locate Testimonials.
- Select the Testimonials checkbox.
- Select Save.
- Open the public VCard.
The Manage Section screen contains a dedicated Testimonials visibility control.
19.34 Hiding the Complete Section
To hide all testimonials:
- Open Manage Section.
- Clear the Testimonials checkbox.
- Select Save.
- Refresh the public card.
The testimonial records and images remain stored.
Re-enable the checkbox later to restore the section.
19.35 Empty Testimonial Section
Avoid enabling Testimonials when no testimonial records exist.
An empty section may provide no useful visitor content or may create unnecessary spacing depending on the selected template.
Add at least one complete testimonial before enabling the section publicly.
Public Presentation
19.36 How Testimonials Appear
The selected VCard template determines the testimonial design.
Testimonials may appear as:
- Individual cards
- A horizontal slider
- A rotating carousel
- Quote panels
- Profile-image cards
- A stacked list
- A section with navigation arrows
The same Name, Description, and Image can therefore appear differently when the template changes.
19.37 Reviewing the Public Section
After adding or editing testimonials:
- Return to VCards.
- Open the card’s preview or public URL.
- Locate the Testimonials section.
- Review every image.
- Review every name.
- Read every statement.
- Test slider or carousel controls when present.
- Review the section on desktop.
- Review it on a mobile phone.
- Open the card in a private browser window.
19.38 Testing a Testimonial Slider
When the selected template uses a slider or carousel, confirm that:
- The first testimonial appears.
- Navigation controls work.
- Every testimonial can be reached.
- Text is not cut off.
- Images remain clear.
- The final entry can be viewed.
- Touch gestures work on a phone where supported.
- The slider does not cover other card controls.
19.39 Reviewing Mobile Readability
On a phone, confirm that:
- Names fit within the testimonial card.
- Descriptions are readable.
- Images are not distorted.
- Text does not extend outside the layout.
- Navigation controls remain visible.
- Long testimonials do not make the section difficult to use.
- Visitors can continue scrolling normally.
Shorten unusually long descriptions when they overwhelm the mobile design.
Writing Effective Testimonials
19.40 Focus on Specific Experiences
Specific testimonials are generally more useful than broad praise.
General:
Great service. Highly recommended.
More informative:
The team helped us replace several disconnected systems with one organized customer-management process. Our staff received clear training and began using the new workflow within the first week.
The second example explains what was provided and why it mattered.
19.41 Include the Problem and Result
A useful structure is:
The original challenge
The service or product received
The customer’s experience
The result
Example:
We were struggling to manage leads from several sources. After the new CRM and follow-up process were implemented, our team could see every opportunity and respond more consistently.
19.42 Keep Claims Accurate
Review statements containing measurable claims such as:
Sales increased by 50%.
Costs decreased by $10,000.
The program improved every student’s score.
The system guaranteed new customers.
Publish measurable results only when:
- The customer actually made the statement.
- The result can be reasonably supported.
- The context is not misleading.
- Required disclaimers are included where appropriate.
- The organization has approved the claim.
Do not convert subjective praise into a guaranteed outcome.
19.43 Use a Variety of Testimonials
A balanced group may include statements about:
- Customer service
- Product quality
- Professional knowledge
- Ease of implementation
- Communication
- Speed
- Training
- Reliability
- Results
- Ongoing support
Avoid adding several nearly identical testimonials.
19.44 Match Testimonials to the Card’s Purpose
A VCard focused on consulting should prioritize consulting testimonials.
A product card should prioritize product experiences.
An education card should prioritize statements from authorized educators, participants, administrators, or approved parents.
A real estate card may feature buyers, sellers, property owners, or business clients.
Relevant testimonials strengthen the rest of the card’s content.
19.45 Ordering Testimonials
The testimonial form does not provide a visible Sort or Order field.
After adding several testimonials:
- Open the public VCard.
- Review their displayed sequence.
- Confirm that the strongest or most relevant content is presented effectively.
- Review the order again after changing templates.
When a specific sequence is essential and no ordering control is available, the entries may need to be recreated in the desired order and then tested publicly.
Testimonial Maintenance
19.46 Review Testimonials Regularly
Periodically confirm that:
- Permission remains valid.
- Names remain accurate.
- Company affiliations are current.
- Images are still appropriate.
- Statements do not describe discontinued services.
- Results are not presented misleadingly.
- Former employees or partners are identified appropriately.
- Duplicate testimonials have been removed.
19.47 Handling Withdrawn Permission
When a person withdraws permission:
- Open Testimonials.
- Locate the applicable entry.
- Confirm the identity of the record.
- Delete the testimonial.
- Refresh the public VCard.
- Confirm that the statement and image are gone.
- Remove the same testimonial from duplicated VCards or other marketing materials when required.
Record the removal request according to the organization’s procedures.
19.48 Updating Company or Job Titles
A customer’s title or employer may change after the testimonial was created.
Update the attribution only when:
- The person has approved the new description.
- The new affiliation is relevant.
- The update does not imply that the new employer endorsed the statement without permission.
When uncertain, use the person’s name without an employer or title.
19.49 Maintaining External Records
Keep an approved testimonial record outside the VCard containing:
Original statement
Approved edited statement
Customer name
Approved public attribution
Approved image
Permission date
Approval method
Expiration or review date, when used
VCards where published
This provides a reliable source if the testimonial is accidentally changed or deleted.
Duplicated VCards
19.50 Reviewing Testimonials After Duplication
After duplicating a VCard:
- Open the duplicate.
- Select Testimonials.
- Review every copied entry.
- Confirm that each testimonial is appropriate for the new card.
- Remove entries that apply only to the original cardholder.
- Confirm that image and statement permissions also cover the duplicate use.
- Review Manage Section.
- Preview the duplicated card publicly.
A testimonial approving one person or business should not automatically be presented as an endorsement of another person, department, or organization.
Troubleshooting Testimonials
19.51 The Testimonial Will Not Save
Confirm that:
- Name is completed.
- Description is completed.
- An image is selected.
- The image is JPG, JPEG, or PNG.
- The crop was confirmed.
- The upload finished.
- The browser session is active.
- The form was submitted only once.
19.52 The Image Will Not Upload
Confirm that:

- The file is not damaged.
- The image opens on your device.
- The browser has permission to access the file.
- The image-selection window was not cancelled.
- The crop was applied.
- The internet connection remained active.
Try converting an unsupported image to JPG or PNG.
19.53 The Image Looks Distorted
Use a square source image or recrop the picture.
Keep the subject centered and leave sufficient space around the edges.
Remember that some templates display the square crop inside a circle.
19.54 The Testimonial Does Not Appear Publicly
Confirm that:
- The testimonial was saved.
- Testimonials is enabled in Manage Section.
- The VCard is active.
- The correct VCard was edited.
- The public page was refreshed.
- The selected template displays the section.

Check for:
- Navigation arrows
- Dots
- Swipe controls
- A rotating carousel
- A View More option
Test the complete section before assuming records are missing.
19.56 The Old Image Still Appears
After replacing an image:
- Confirm that Save succeeded.
- Refresh the public card.
- Open it in a private browser window.
- Clear the browser cache when necessary.
- Reopen the Testimonial Details window.
- Confirm that the replacement image was stored.
- Confirm that the correct testimonial was edited.
19.57 The Old Description Still Appears
Confirm that the Edit form was saved.
Then:
- Reopen the Testimonial Details window.
- Review the stored Description.
- Refresh the public VCard.
- Test the card in a private browser window.
- Confirm that the correct VCard and entry were changed.
19.58 A Deleted Testimonial Still Appears
Refresh the public card and open it in a private browser window.
Confirm that:
- The deletion success message appeared.
- The testimonial is no longer in the management list.
- The correct VCard was edited.
- Another duplicate testimonial does not exist.
- The same content is not displayed through an Instagram, LinkedIn, Gallery, or Blog entry.
19.59 Testimonial Checklist
Before completing the Testimonials section, confirm that:
- Every testimonial is authentic.
- Public-use permission has been obtained.
- The correct Name or approved attribution is used.
- Each Description accurately reflects the original feedback.
- Private information has been removed.
- Every image is approved.
- Images use JPG, JPEG, or PNG.

- The complete section was reviewed on desktop and mobile.
- Slider or carousel controls were tested.
- Duplicated VCards contain only appropriate testimonials.
- Approved copies and permission records are retained.
Chapter Completion
At the end of this chapter, the user should understand how to prepare, add, view, edit, publish, hide, and delete VCard testimonials; manage testimonial images; obtain appropriate permissions; review public presentation; and troubleshoot common display problems.
