11.1 Overview

The Instagram Embed section allows the card owner to display selected Instagram posts and reels directly inside a digital VCard.

This feature is different from adding an Instagram profile link. A social link sends visitors to the Instagram account, while an Instagram embed places specific Instagram content inside the public digital card.

The system supports two Instagram content types:

Post
Reel

Each Instagram entry contains:

Type
Embed Tag

The VCard editor provides dedicated controls for adding, editing, and deleting Instagram embed entries.

11.2 Instagram Embed Versus Instagram Social Link

The digital card provides two separate ways to use Instagram.

Instagram Social Link

An Instagram social link displays the Instagram icon and sends visitors to the full Instagram profile.

Example:

https://www.instagram.com/businessname

Use this when visitors should browse the complete Instagram account.

Instagram Embed

An Instagram embed displays a particular post or reel inside the VCard.

Use this when the card should feature selected content, such as:

  1. Product demonstrations
  2. Customer testimonials
  3. Event highlights
  4. Promotional videos
  5. Project examples
  6. Educational content
  7. Company announcements
  8. Portfolio work
  9. Behind-the-scenes content
  10. Staff introductions

A card can use both the Instagram social link and Instagram embeds.

11.3 Opening the Instagram Embed Section

From the dashboard:

  1. Select VCards.
  2. Locate the digital card you want to update.
  3. Select the card name or the Edit icon.
  4. Select InstaEmbed or Instagram Embed from the VCard editor menu.

On a phone or smaller screen, select the menu icon inside the editor to display the editing sections.

Instagram Embed is managed through its own interface rather than the standard VCard information form.

11.4 Understanding the Instagram Embed Screen

The Instagram Embed screen contains two primary buttons:

How It Works
Add Embed Tag

Below the buttons is a table containing the Instagram content already attached to the digital card.

Each row displays:

Type
Embed Tag
Actions

The Embed Tag shown in the table may be shortened when the complete code is long.

The available actions are:

Edit
Delete

Obtaining an Instagram Embed Tag

11.5 Using the How It Works Guide

Select How It Works to open the Instagram Embed guide.

The system’s programmed instructions are:

  1. Open an Instagram post or reel using the desktop version of Instagram.
  2. Copy the embed tag for that post or reel.
  3. Add the embed tag to the VCard’s Instagram Embed section.
  4. The selected content will then be displayed on the VCard.

Use this guide whenever you are uncertain about what information belongs in the Embed Tag field.

11.6 Understanding an Embed Tag

An embed tag is a block of website code supplied for displaying the Instagram content on another webpage.

It is not the same as the ordinary Instagram post address.

An ordinary post address may look similar to:

https://www.instagram.com/p/example/

An embed tag contains a larger block of HTML code and may begin with an element such as:

<blockquote class="instagram-media" ...

The complete code may also contain an Instagram script reference.

Paste the complete embed code supplied for the post or reel. Do not paste only a small section from the beginning or end.

11.7 Do Not Paste Only the Instagram URL

The Embed Tag field is designed for embed code.

Entering only the Instagram URL may not provide the information the VCard needs to display the content inside the page.

Incorrect:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/example/

Correct format:

<blockquote class="instagram-media">
...
</blockquote>

The actual code will usually be longer than this shortened example.

11.8 Copying the Complete Code

When copying the embed tag:

  1. Begin at the first character of the supplied code.
  2. Select the complete code block.
  3. Copy it without modifying the characters.
  4. Do not remove quotation marks.
  5. Do not delete opening or closing tags.
  6. Do not add explanatory text before or after the code.
  7. Paste the code directly into the VCard’s Embed Tag field.

An incomplete embed tag may save but fail to display correctly on the public card.

11.9 Choosing Suitable Instagram Content

Select Instagram content that supports the purpose of the digital card.

For a professional profile, suitable content may include:

  1. Professional introductions
  2. Speaking appearances
  3. Completed projects
  4. Business education
  5. Community involvement
  6. Client success stories
  7. Service demonstrations

For a product-focused card, suitable content may include:

  1. Product demonstrations
  2. Unboxing videos
  3. Customer uses
  4. Product launches
  5. Promotional reels
  6. Before-and-after examples

For an event-focused card, suitable content may include:

  1. Event announcements
  2. Venue previews
  3. Speaker introductions
  4. Previous event highlights
  5. Registration reminders

Avoid adding unrelated content simply because it received high engagement.

Adding an Instagram Post

11.10 Opening the Add Embed Tag Form

Select Add Embed Tag.

The Add Embed Tag window opens with two required fields:

Type
Embed Tag

The form also contains:

Save
Discard

The selected VCard is associated with the entry automatically.

11.11 Selecting Post as the Type

Open the Type dropdown and select:

Post

Use Post for standard Instagram content published as an Instagram post.

The Type value helps the system identify and organize the kind of Instagram content being displayed.

Make sure the selected Type matches the content whose embed code you are entering.

11.12 Entering the Post Embed Tag

Paste the complete Instagram post embed code into the Embed Tag field.

The Embed Tag field is required.

Before saving, confirm that:

  1. The code belongs to the intended post.
  2. The complete code was copied.
  3. The field does not contain only the post URL.
  4. No unrelated text was pasted.
  5. The code was not accidentally duplicated.
  6. The post still exists on Instagram.

11.13 Saving the Instagram Post

Select Save.

When the entry is accepted:

  1. A success message confirms that the embed tag was created.
  2. The Add Embed Tag window closes.
  3. The Instagram Embed table refreshes.
  4. The new Post entry appears in the list.

The table displays the Type and a shortened version of the saved Embed Tag.

Adding an Instagram Reel

11.14 Selecting Reel as the Type

To add a reel:

  1. Select Add Embed Tag.
  2. Open the Type dropdown.
  3. Select Reel.
  4. Paste the reel’s complete embed code.
  5. Select Save.

Use Reel only for content published as an Instagram reel.

The application’s Instagram guide specifically supports both posts and reels.

11.15 Using Reels Effectively

Reels are useful when the content depends on movement, audio, demonstrations, or short-form storytelling.

Examples include:

Product demonstration
Personal introduction
Customer testimonial
Property walkthrough
Training tip
Event highlight
Behind-the-scenes video
Service explanation

Review the public card on a mobile device after adding a reel because the embedded media may occupy more vertical screen space than a standard content section.

Managing Multiple Instagram Embeds

11.16 Adding More Than One Entry

Repeat the Add Embed Tag process for every post or reel you want to display.

The Instagram Embed table can contain multiple entries associated with the same VCard.

For example:

Post — Company introduction
Reel — Product demonstration
Post — Customer testimonial
Reel — Event highlight

Each item appears as its own management record.

11.17 Avoiding Duplicate Content

Before adding a new embed, review the existing table.

Do not add the same post or reel more than once unless there is a specific reason for displaying duplicate content.

Because the table shortens long embed tags, compare the content on the public card when two entries appear similar.

11.18 How Many Embeds to Use

The system can store multiple embed entries, but the card should remain easy to load and navigate.

A focused selection normally produces a stronger visitor experience than displaying a large portion of an Instagram feed.

Consider beginning with:

One featured post
One or two featured reels
One testimonial or project example

Add more only when each entry provides distinct value.

11.19 Choosing the Display Sequence

The Instagram Embed management table does not provide a visible Sort field.

New entries are stored as individual records, but the exact public order should be verified through the live VCard.

When the order is important:

  1. Add the content in the intended sequence.
  2. Open the public card.
  3. Review the displayed order.
  4. Delete and recreate entries when necessary to achieve the desired arrangement.

Do not assume the dashboard’s table order and public-card order will always appear identical without testing.

Editing Instagram Embeds

11.20 Opening the Edit Form

Select the Edit icon beside the Instagram entry you want to change.

The Edit Embed Tag window opens with the saved:

Type
Embed Tag

You can change either field.

11.21 Changing the Type

Open the Type dropdown and select the correct content type:

Post
Reel

Change the Type when:

  1. The wrong option was selected originally.
  2. A Post was incorrectly identified as a Reel.
  3. A Reel was incorrectly identified as a Post.
  4. The embed code is being replaced with a different kind of content.

The Type should match the new embed code before saving.

11.22 Replacing the Embed Tag

Delete the old code from the Embed Tag field and paste the complete new code.

Replace the tag when:

  1. A different Instagram post should be featured.
  2. The original content was removed.
  3. The old embed no longer displays.
  4. A campaign has ended.
  5. A newer product demonstration is available.
  6. An updated testimonial should be used.
  7. The previous code was incomplete.

Do not paste the new code beneath the old code unless you intentionally want both code blocks inside one entry. Each Instagram item should normally have its own separate record.

11.23 Saving the Changes

Select Save after editing.

A success message confirms that the embed tag was updated.

The management table refreshes with the revised Type and Embed Tag information.

Select Discard to close the edit window without saving the current changes.

Deleting Instagram Embeds

11.24 Deleting an Entry

Select the Delete icon beside the Instagram entry.

Review the confirmation and approve the deletion.

The selected embed record is removed from the VCard.

Deleting the VCard embed does not delete the original content from Instagram. It only stops that entry from being displayed through this digital card.

11.25 When to Delete an Embed

Delete an Instagram entry when:

  1. The post or reel is no longer relevant.
  2. The content has been removed from Instagram.
  3. The embed no longer loads.
  4. A promotion has expired.
  5. The information is outdated.
  6. The content was added to the wrong VCard.
  7. The same content was added twice.
  8. The post contains information the organization no longer wants displayed.

Use Edit instead of Delete when the entry only needs to be replaced.

11.26 Using Discard

The Add and Edit windows both include a Discard button.

Discard closes the current window without saving the information entered during that session.

It does not:

  1. Delete existing embeds
  2. Remove the Instagram section
  3. Change the VCard
  4. Deactivate the VCard
  5. Affect the original Instagram post or reel

Controlling Public Visibility

11.27 Showing the Instagram Feed

The complete Instagram area is controlled through Manage Sections.

To display it:

  1. Open the VCard editor.
  2. Select Manage Sections.
  3. Locate Instagram Feed.
  4. Select or enable the Instagram Feed checkbox.
  5. Save the section settings.
  6. Preview the public card.

The VCard’s Manage Sections interface includes a separate Instagram Feed control.

11.28 Hiding Instagram Without Deleting Entries

To temporarily hide the Instagram content:

  1. Open Manage Sections.
  2. Clear the Instagram Feed checkbox.
  3. Save the changes.

The saved Instagram Post and Reel entries remain in the account.

This is useful when:

  1. The card is being redesigned.
  2. The Instagram content is temporarily outdated.
  3. The card should load with fewer media sections.
  4. A campaign has been paused.
  5. The card should temporarily emphasize services or products.
  6. New Instagram content is being prepared.

Re-enable Instagram Feed later to restore the section.

11.29 Empty Instagram Section

When Instagram Feed is enabled but no valid entries exist, the section may appear empty or may not provide meaningful content.

Before enabling the section, confirm that at least one saved embed displays successfully.

Remove or repair entries that no longer load.

Reviewing Instagram Content Publicly

11.30 Previewing the Instagram Section

After adding or editing an embed:

  1. Return to the VCards page.
  2. Open the VCard’s preview or public URL.
  3. Locate the Instagram Feed section.
  4. Confirm that the selected post or reel appears.
  5. Confirm that the content belongs to the correct account.
  6. Test any available Instagram interaction controls.
  7. Review the section on desktop and mobile.
  8. Confirm that the rest of the VCard remains easy to navigate.

The selected VCard template determines the exact placement and styling of the Instagram Feed.

11.31 Testing a Post

For each embedded post, confirm that:

  1. The post loads.
  2. The image or media appears.
  3. The caption area does not break the layout.
  4. The content is not cut off unexpectedly.
  5. The entry belongs to the correct account.
  6. The post remains available when the page is refreshed.
  7. The VCard continues loading below the embed.

11.32 Testing a Reel

For each embedded reel, confirm that:

  1. The reel preview appears.
  2. The media can be opened or played when supported.
  3. The reel does not extend outside the card layout.
  4. The video area works on a mobile device.
  5. The page remains responsive.
  6. The content does not cover other VCard controls.

Test with the phone held vertically because that is how many visitors will open a VCard after scanning a QR code.

11.33 Opening in a Private Browser Window

Review the public VCard in a private or incognito browser window.

This helps confirm that the content is available to an ordinary visitor rather than only to someone already signed in to Instagram or the VCard dashboard.

A post that appears for the administrator may not necessarily display the same way for every public visitor.

11.34 Reviewing Page Performance

Embedded social content may take additional time to load because it depends on external media.

After adding several entries:

  1. Open the VCard on a mobile connection.
  2. Measure how quickly the main card information appears.
  3. Scroll through the complete page.
  4. Confirm that Instagram content does not prevent other sections from loading.
  5. Remove unnecessary embeds when the card becomes too long or slow.

Keep essential contact information near the beginning of the card so it remains accessible even while external content loads.

Content Maintenance

11.35 Reviewing Instagram Embeds Regularly

Instagram content should be reviewed periodically.

Check for:

  1. Removed posts
  2. Expired promotions
  3. Outdated dates
  4. Old products
  5. Changed pricing
  6. Former staff members
  7. Incorrect announcements
  8. Broken embeds
  9. Content that no longer reflects the brand

Replace outdated entries instead of allowing the public card to become stale.

11.36 Campaign Content

When an embedded post promotes a limited-time campaign, record the campaign’s end date outside the VCard.

After the campaign ends:

  1. Edit the Instagram entry and replace it with current content, or
  2. Delete the entry, or
  3. Hide the Instagram Feed temporarily.

Do not rely on visitors to recognize that an old promotion is no longer valid.

11.37 Maintaining Brand Consistency

Choose Instagram content that matches the VCard’s:

  1. Business identity
  2. Services
  3. Products
  4. Colors
  5. Professional tone
  6. Current messaging
  7. Intended audience

The Instagram Feed should support the rest of the card rather than appearing as an unrelated social stream.

11.38 Using Instagram for Social Proof

Instagram embeds can strengthen the card when they demonstrate genuine activity or results.

Suitable social-proof content may include:

  1. Customer feedback
  2. Completed projects
  3. Event attendance
  4. Media appearances
  5. Awards
  6. Community partnerships
  7. Product use
  8. Training sessions
  9. Team achievements

Confirm that any customer, student, employee, or participant information displayed is appropriate for public use.

VCard Duplication

11.39 Instagram Content and Duplicate VCards

The VCard duplication process includes the VCard’s Instagram Embed relationship among the supported duplicated content.

After duplicating a VCard:

  1. Open the duplicate.
  2. Select Instagram Embed.
  3. Review each copied Post and Reel entry.
  4. Remove content that should remain exclusive to the original card.
  5. Open the duplicate’s public preview.
  6. Confirm that every copied embed still displays.

Do not assume all copied social content is appropriate for the new card’s audience.

Troubleshooting Instagram Embeds

11.40 The Instagram Content Does Not Appear

Confirm that:

  1. The embed entry was saved.
  2. Instagram Feed is enabled in Manage Sections.
  3. The VCard is active.
  4. The correct VCard was edited.
  5. The complete embed code was pasted.
  6. The original Instagram content still exists.
  7. The public card has been refreshed.
  8. The browser is not displaying an older cached page.

11.41 Only Code Appears Instead of the Post

The embed tag may be incomplete, altered, or being treated as ordinary text.

Return to Instagram, copy the complete embed code again, and replace the saved Embed Tag.

Do not manually rewrite the HTML unless you understand exactly which portion was changed.

11.42 A URL Appears Instead of Embedded Content

The ordinary Instagram URL may have been pasted into the Embed Tag field.

Replace it with the complete embed code supplied for the post or reel.

11.43 The Form Will Not Save

Confirm that both required fields are completed:

Type
Embed Tag

Also confirm that:

  1. A Type was selected from the dropdown.
  2. The Embed Tag field is not blank.
  3. The browser session is still active.
  4. The same form is not being submitted repeatedly.
  5. The page has not been left open for an excessive period.

11.44 The Wrong Type Appears in the Table

Select Edit, change the Type to Post or Reel, and select Save.

Changing the Type does not automatically replace the embed code, so confirm that both fields match.

11.45 The Embed Was Added Twice

Delete one of the duplicate entries.

Open the public card afterward and confirm that only one copy remains.

11.46 An Old Version Still Appears

After replacing an embed:

  1. Refresh the public card.
  2. Open it in a private browser window.
  3. Clear the browser cache when necessary.
  4. Confirm that the edit success message appeared.
  5. Verify that the table contains the new code.
  6. Confirm that the correct VCard was edited.

11.47 The Instagram Post Was Deleted

Delete the corresponding VCard embed or replace it with another post.

The VCard cannot display content that is no longer available from its original source.

11.48 The Layout Is Too Long

Reduce the number of Instagram entries.

Feature only the strongest content and allow the Instagram social link to direct visitors to the complete profile.

This keeps the VCard focused while still providing access to additional content.

11.49 Mobile Display Is Crowded

Review the number of embeds and the selected VCard template.

Remove lower-priority entries or select a template that provides more appropriate spacing for media sections.

Also confirm that the VCard’s other sections are arranged in a useful order through Manage Sections.

11.50 Instagram Embed Checklist

Before completing the Instagram section, confirm that:

  1. The correct VCard is being edited.
  2. Each Type is correctly identified as Post or Reel.
  3. Each Embed Tag contains the complete embed code.
  4. Ordinary Instagram URLs were not used in place of embed tags.
  5. Duplicate entries were removed.
  6. Instagram Feed is enabled in Manage Sections.
  7. Every post and reel appears on the public card.
  8. The content belongs to the intended Instagram account.
  9. Expired or outdated promotions were removed.
  10. The card has been tested on desktop and mobile.
  11. The public page remains easy to load and navigate.
  12. The complete Instagram profile is also linked when appropriate.

Chapter Completion

At the end of this chapter, the user should understand how to obtain an Instagram embed tag, add Instagram posts and reels, edit and delete saved embeds, control the public Instagram Feed, test embedded content, and troubleshoot display problems.
