The Media Picker is the selection interface used when another normal-user feature needs an existing Media Library asset. Examples include the Social Composer and Bulk Publishing.
From the Social Composer, select Media Library in Media Attachments. Other supported features can open the same Media Picker when an image or video needs to be selected.
The picker provides its own search value. Search is briefly delayed while typing and resets the picker to its first page before retrieving matching media.
The calling workflow can restrict the picker to a particular asset type. For example, Bulk Publishing changes the picker to video-only when one of the selected accounts is YouTube.
This helps prevent incompatible media from being selected for workflows that require video.
In a single-selection workflow, select the desired media card and confirm the choice. The selected attachment is returned to the feature that opened the picker.
When multi-select is enabled, selecting a card adds it to the current selection. Selecting the same card again removes it from the selection.
The Social Composer and Bulk Publishing can use multiple selected assets where the destination platform and content type allow them.
The Media Picker can also allow a new upload. When the workflow is restricted to Images, the picker rejects videos. When it is restricted to another type, follow the type requirement shown by the current workflow.
Bulk Publishing can map selected Media Library assets across the imported bulk rows. Existing media values are preserved and duplicate copies of the same selected media path are avoided.
Composer-selected media becomes part of the current social post. Removing it from the Composer only removes it from that post; it does not delete the original Media Library record.
The Media Picker demonstrates the purpose of the library: store an asset once, then reuse it across authorized publishing workflows without repeatedly uploading the same file.
