YouTube Is Video-Only

The AIUNIFY Social Media publishing service treats YouTube as a video-only destination. Images cannot be used as the primary publishing media for a YouTube post.

YouTube Publishing Formats

When only YouTube accounts are selected, the Composer presents YouTube-oriented formats:

  • Videos — standard YouTube video publishing.
  • Shorts — short-form YouTube publishing.

Selecting YouTube After Adding Images

If image attachments are already present and you attempt to add a YouTube channel, AIUNIFY Social Media can prevent that selection and display:

YouTube only supports video uploads. Please remove any image attachments first.

Remove the image attachments or publish to the other selected platforms separately.

Select All and YouTube

If you use a Select All-style account action while images are attached, YouTube accounts can be skipped automatically. The interface can inform you that YouTube accounts were skipped because images are attached.

Selecting Media While YouTube Is Active

If YouTube is already selected and you choose a mixture of image and video assets from the Media Library, AIUNIFY Social Media filters out non-video files for the YouTube publishing workflow and can warn that YouTube only supports video uploads.

Supported YouTube Video Formats

The publishing service identifies supported YouTube video formats including MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, and WEBM. Media validation can recommend MP4 for normal publishing.

YouTube Shorts

The source defines Shorts as vertical short-form video. Its validation guidance states that Shorts should be vertical at approximately 9:16 and under 60 seconds.

Standard Videos

Select Videos for a normal YouTube video rather than Shorts. Review the video file and caption information before submission.

Validation Errors

If non-video media is supplied to YouTube, the backend can reject the media and report that YouTube only supports video uploads. Correct the media selection before trying again.

Recommended Workflow

  1. Select the YouTube channel.
  2. Choose Videos or Shorts.
  3. Select an eligible video from Media Library.
  4. Review the caption.
  5. Use Channel Preview.
  6. Publish immediately or schedule the video.
