59.1 Redemption Actions

The Claims area provides user actions for maintaining the redemption state of each customer Coupon Code.

The available actions depend on the current Claim Status.

59.2 Mark Used

For a Coupon that has not already been marked Used, select Mark used when the Business accepts the Coupon as redeemed.

59.3 Used Status

Mark Used changes the Coupon Claim Status to Used.

The system also records the time of redemption in the underlying Used At value.

59.4 Reporting Effect

Used Coupon Claims contribute to:

  • Coupons Used.
  • Coupon Performance.
  • Redemption Rate.
  • Coupon reporting.

59.5 Undo

When a Coupon Claim is already Used, the interface replaces Mark Used with Undo.

Select Undo when the redemption was marked incorrectly and should return to the Claimed state.

59.6 Returning to Claimed

Undo changes the Status from Used back to Claimed and clears the stored redemption time.

59.7 Cancel

For a claim that is not currently Used, select Cancel when the Claim should no longer remain in the normal redemption workflow.

59.8 Cancelled Status

Cancel changes the Claim Status to Cancelled.

59.9 Copy Before Validation

The Claims area provides a Copy action for each Coupon Code.

When validating a Coupon presented by a customer, compare the actual Code carefully before selecting Mark Used.

59.10 Redemption Workflow

The deployed Workflow tab describes the process as:

  1. Customer scans or opens Coupon Page.
  2. Customer claims a unique Coupon Code.
  3. Staff validates Code at checkout.
  4. Mark Coupon as Used for reporting.

59.11 Correcting Mistakes

If a valid Coupon was accidentally marked Used before redemption was completed, use Undo to return it to Claimed rather than creating another customer claim.

59.12 Preserve Accurate Reporting

Keep Coupon Status aligned with the real-world redemption outcome. Redemption Rate becomes less useful when Coupon Codes are marked Used before they are actually accepted.
