49.1 Booking Status Actions

The Booking Workspace provides direct User Portal actions for moving an appointment request through its normal operating lifecycle.

The available status actions are:

  • Confirm.
  • Cancel.
  • Complete.

49.2 Confirm

Select Confirm when the appointment request has been accepted and should be treated as scheduled.

The Booking Status changes to Confirmed.

49.3 Cancel

Select Cancel when the appointment should no longer remain active.

The Booking Status changes to Cancelled.

49.4 Cancelled Slots

Cancelled Bookings are excluded from the occupied-slot calculation used by Booking Availability.

This allows an applicable appointment time to become available again when other availability rules permit it.

49.5 Complete

Select Complete when the appointment has been fulfilled.

The Booking Status changes to Completed.

49.6 Changing an Existing Status

The Booking actions can be used on an existing Booking record to move it into the appropriate Confirmed, Cancelled, or Completed state.

Use the action that reflects the Business's actual appointment outcome.

49.7 Delete Booking

Select the Delete action when the Booking record itself should be permanently removed from the Booking Workspace.

49.8 Delete Confirmation

The confirmation dialog states:

This permanently removes the booking request from this workspace.

49.9 Status Change Versus Delete

Do not use Delete when the real business outcome is simply a cancellation.

Use Cancel to preserve the Booking record with a Cancelled status. Use Delete only when the Booking record itself should no longer remain in the workspace.

49.10 Booking Follow-Up Discipline

A practical workflow is:

  1. Review new Pending requests.
  2. Confirm accepted appointments.
  3. Cancel appointments that will not take place.
  4. Complete appointments after service delivery.
  5. Use Delete only when permanent record removal is appropriate.
