42.1 Purpose of Site Type

Each AIUNIFY Chat Agent can use a Site type, also described as a vertical preset.

The deployed interface explains that a vertical preset tunes the Agent's Starter prompts, response style, and capabilities to better match the kind of website where the Agent operates.

42.2 Opening Site Type

1. Open the Agent workspace.
2. Select Site type.

The Site Type page displays the current vertical and lets you review, re-detect, or choose a different preset.

42.3 Automatic Detection

During onboarding, AIUNIFY Chat can inspect the supplied homepage and evaluate signals such as page metadata, structured information, and URL patterns to recommend a Site Type.

When detection produces a useful match, the onboarding interface can display:

• The detected Site Type.
• A confidence indicator.
• Other possible matches.
• A manual Site Type selector.

42.4 Re-Detecting Later

On the Agent's Site Type page, select Re-detect to run detection again.

The interface states that Re-detection fetches the homepage again. This is useful when a site's content or positioning has changed.

42.5 Choosing a Site Type Manually

You do not have to accept the automatic match. Use Change vertical to select the Site Type that best represents the website's actual purpose.

If automatic detection fails or produces a weak match, manually selecting the appropriate preset is the correct fallback.

42.6 Previewing What a Preset Does

The Site Type page includes a What this preset does area.

Review the preview before applying the preset so you understand the Starter prompts, presentation settings, and capabilities associated with the selection.

42.7 Applying a Preset

1. Select the desired Site Type.
2. Review its preset preview.
3. Select Apply preset.

The interface can ask for confirmation if applying the new preset would overwrite existing Agent customization such as Starter prompts, launcher settings, or maximum response length.

42.8 Custom System Prompt Protection

The Site Type page explicitly states that changing the vertical does not touch the Agent's custom System prompt.

This allows the Site Type to tune its supported preset behavior while preserving the Agent instructions you intentionally wrote.

42.9 Changing the Preset Later

A Site Type is not permanent. The interface states that it can be changed later.

When switching presets, review any overwrite warning carefully and re-test the Agent because Starter prompts, response presentation, or available capabilities may change.

42.10 Operational Best Practice

Use the preset that most accurately describes the website rather than choosing one solely because its default prompts look appealing. The Site Type should support the actual visitor workflow and content available to the Agent.
